Waiting on God can sometimes feel like walking through a long, winding valley. As time stretches, weariness can creep in, and the enemy uses every opportunity to plant lies in your mind—whispers that God has forgotten you or that His promises won’t come to pass. But believer, take heart! The Word of God is your lifeline, your weapon, and your guide. Through meditating on Scripture, you can draw closer to Jesus, overcome weariness, and silence the enemy’s lies.


1. Meditating on God’s Word: A Lifeline for the Weary

When weariness sets in, it’s easy to feel isolated or distant from Jesus. But in those moments, God’s Word becomes a source of renewal. Psalm 119:28 says, “My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.”

Meditation isn’t just for the spiritually elite—it’s for every believer, especially in difficult times. To meditate is to linger with God’s Word, allowing it to penetrate your heart and mind. It’s not about rushing through Scripture but letting a single verse anchor your soul and restore your strength.

    The Truth: “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness” (2 Peter 3:9).

Separation from Jesus profits nothing. John 15:5 reminds us, “Apart from me, you can do nothing.” Stay connected to Him, and He will sustain you.


4. Build Your Relationship Before the Storm

Too often, believers wait until life falls apart to seek intimacy with Jesus. While He will always welcome you, it’s far better to develop a deep relationship before the storm hits. Proverbs 8:17 says, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.”

  • Create a Worshipful Atmosphere: Play worship music, light a candle, or sit outside in nature. Make it a sacred time.
  • Invite Jesus Into Your Fun: Yes, meditation can be fun! Laugh, draw, sing, and rejoice with Him. Build memories of joy in His presence.

When hard times come, you won’t be scrambling to learn the fundamentals of faith. You’ll already know what it means to walk closely with Christ.


5. The Joy of Intimacy with Jesus

Intimacy with Jesus isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. Psalm 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

The more time you spend with Him, the more you’ll experience His peace and joy, even in the waiting. Anxiety will lose its grip, and your soul will be refreshed.


6. Start Today: Don’t Wait for Difficult Times

Believer, don’t wait until the enemy’s lies have taken root. Start meditating on the Word today. Even a few minutes can transform your mindset and strengthen your spirit.

Take Psalm 23:1-3 as an example:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.”

  • Say it aloud.
  • Picture it in your mind—Jesus leading you beside still waters.
  • Ask Him, “What are the green pastures You have for me today?”
