Breaking the Chains: Embracing Freedom and Authority in the New Covenant

Here are declarations based on the scriptures, focusing on breaking the power of old covenants of sin and affirming the freedom and authority believers have in Christ through the New Covenant:

  • Jeremiah 31:31-34 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah… For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

    • Declaration: “I declare that through the New Covenant in Christ, every old covenant of sin and iniquity is broken over my life. The Lord has forgiven my sins and remembers them no more. His law is written on my heart, and I walk in His truth and freedom.”

  • Luke 22:20 “And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.’”

    • Declaration: “By the blood of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am no longer bound by the law of sin and death. The blood of the New Covenant covers me, redeems me, and sets me free. The power of sin has no hold over me in Jesus’ name.”

  •  Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”

    • Declaration: “I proclaim that there is now no condemnation for me because I am in Christ Jesus. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ has set me free from the law of sin and death. I reject every agreement with sin and embrace the life and freedom found in Jesus.”

  • Hebrews 9:15 “Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.”

    • Declaration: “Through the eternal inheritance of the New Covenant, I declare that all past agreements with sin are null and void. The death of Christ has redeemed me, and I now live as a child of the promise, free and whole.”

  • Ezekiel 36:26-27 “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.”

    • Declaration: “I declare that God has given me a new heart and a new spirit. The heart of stone is removed, and I walk in obedience through the Spirit of God within me. The old covenant of rebellion and sin is destroyed, and I live in alignment with God’s will.”

  • Hebrews 10:16-17 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds, then he adds, I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”

    • Declaration: “I declare that the Lord has established His covenant with me through Jesus Christ. His laws are written on my heart and mind, guiding my every step. I proclaim that my sins and lawless deeds are remembered no more. Every old covenant of sin is broken, and I walk in the freedom, forgiveness, and power of the New Covenant in Christ.”

  • 2 Corinthians 3:6 “Who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

    • Declaration: “I proclaim that I am a minister of the New Covenant. The Spirit of God gives me life and breaks every chain of sin and death. I reject the letter of the law and embrace the Spirit that leads to freedom and truth.”

  • Hebrews 13:20-21 “Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will…”

    • Declaration: “I declare that the blood of the eternal covenant equips me to walk in every good work. Through Jesus Christ, every old bond of sin is destroyed, and I am empowered to fulfil God’s will in my life.”

  • 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

    • Declaration: “I confess my sins, and I declare that I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus. God is faithful and just to forgive me and purify me from all unrighteousness. Every old covenant of sin is washed away, and I am made new.”

  • 2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.”

    • Declaration: “Even in my weakness, I declare that God’s faithfulness sustains me. His covenant of grace stands unshaken, and every old agreement with sin is broken by His unchanging power.”

  • Final Declaration “In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce every old covenant of sin, rebellion, and iniquity. By the power of the New Covenant established through His blood, I declare my freedom, redemption, and victory. Sin has no dominion over me, for I am under grace and not the law. I am a new creation in Christ, and I walk in His power, righteousness, and peace. Amen.”

These scriptures and declarations serve as a powerful way to break free from old agreements with sin and to affirm your identity and freedom in Christ.

The Power of Hope: Overcoming the Spirit of Despair

In life, it’s easy to find ourselves weighed down by despair. The feeling of hopelessness can be overwhelming, leaving us grasping for anything that might offer relief. When despair strikes, we may seek comfort in a variety of distractions—conversations with others, alcohol, or other fleeting sources of temporary pleasure. Yet, no matter how much time we spend trying to fill the void, the emptiness remains. Why? Because these distractions can never truly satisfy us. Only the Spirit of God can fill us in a way that no earthly distraction ever could. Despair’s Deceptive Comfort When despair sets in, we often turn to things or people for solace. It can be easy to fall into the trap of looking for quick fixes—a conversation with a friend, a drink, or mindless entertainment. While these things may provide momentary comfort or a sense of relief, they ultimately leave us feeling empty. This is because, as human beings, we are designed to be filled by God’s presence. Our souls are wired to fin...

Loving the Unlovable: The Power of God’s Love in a Hurting World

Love. It’s the heart of the Christian faith, and yet, for many of us, it’s one of the hardest things to practice—especially when the people we’re called to love keep hurting us. We know that love is central to who we are as believers, but let’s be honest: loving those who hurt us, especially when they don’t admit their wrongs, can feel impossible. Sometimes, we want to lash out, hurt others with our words or actions, or even withdraw altogether. But what if our love—real, Christ-like love—wasn’t just a feeling, but something much deeper? What if it was a measure of how well we understand the love that God has for us? The Definition of Love: A Reflection of Ourselves In 1 Corinthians 13, we find one of the most beautiful and challenging definitions of love. It says that love is patient, kind, and doesn’t keep a record of wrongs. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. But what if we replaced the word “love” in that chapter with our own n...
