Identity in Christ Through the Lens of Programming

Introduction If you understand software, you know that a running application is not an isolated thing. What you see on the screen is the visible result of many layers working together. A program depends on: Source code Compilers and interpreters Operating systems Hardware Electrical power Physical laws If any foundational layer is removed, the application ceases to function. The Bible presents a similar view of human existence. A person is not self-sustaining. We exist within layers of dependence that ultimately lead back to God.
